Cigar Tasting on the Terrace at Boisdale Canary Wharf
I was back at Boisdale of Canary Wharf for another lovely event, this time hosted on the famous Cigar Terrace and organised by Hunters & Frankau. It was a small group, full of easy conversation, laughter and a shared appreciation of the finer things in life.
Boisdale is known worldwide as the leading Scottish restaurant and whisky bar, specialising in live jazz, blues and soul — and, of course, the very finest Cuban cigars. Their Canary Wharf venue at Cabot Place West is the UK flagship, and you can feel that pedigree the moment you step in.
The team at Boisdale have created something remarkable here: a 16-square-metre walk-in humidor with members’ cigar lockers, stocked with an impressive selection of fine and rare Habanos. It even includes a collection of pre-embargo and vintage Havana cigars, supplied by Mitchell Orchant as part of the Boisdale Orchant Selección range.
Inside, luxurious leather chairs and sofas give cigar lovers the chance to sit comfortably and sample cigars before making a purchase. Outside, the awning-covered heated terrace is a real standout — tartan-upholstered armchairs, soft blankets and space for 42 guests to relax. Opposite is the members-only area, seating 22, offering the ultimate in comfortable al fresco smoking.
It all made the perfect backdrop for a relaxed evening of cigar tasting, where everyone could settle in and enjoy themselves. A warm atmosphere, great cigars and good company — exactly what you expect from Boisdale.
