I recently did a business lifestyle shoot for the University of Wales Trinity Saint David at their London campus in Canary Wharf. The brief was to capture relaxed, engaging shots of students enjoying their time on campus — real moments that would work across the university’s printed brochures, website and social media.
Three students agreed to take part, and even though they’d never met before, they quickly warmed to each other and were soon chatting, laughing, and giving us exactly the kind of natural interaction we were after. We started with some headshots, then moved around the building and got a nice variety of images showing them in different settings — working, chatting, walking through the space.
Video testimonials
At the end of the session, each student gave a short video testimonial about their experience studying at the London campus. The combination of stills and video gave the marketing team a solid batch of content that’s flexible and reusable.
As I live in Islington, it’s always easy for me to get to central London for this kind of job. Shoots like this are a great example of how a small, focused session can produce a really strong range of visuals when everything is well planned.
